BC + SI Ecosystem Association

Building British Columbia’s Super Intelligence industry. Regrettably.

Same people. Revised terminology. Unrevised convictions.

Following President Trump’s instructions on what to call a computer, we have reluctantly replaced an adjective, redesigned the website, and promoted every algorithm. We remain in Canada. We appreciate that this raises questions.

Satire by BC + AI. No actual name change. No endorsement by the people pictured. The events behind the joke are real.

Notice to members / terminology compliance

A change of adjective. Not a change of convictions.

The president renamed AI, then described people using the old name as “THE ENEMY.” His order does not apply to this Canadian nonprofit. Nevertheless, in an abundance of unnecessary caution, we have complied with the typography. Our objections remain in the minutes.

Effective immediately. Meaning pending.

Meet the people who did not ask for this.

The community is real. So is its capacity for independent thought. Neither has been consulted about the new stationery.

The servers have been notified. They continue to require electricity.

Every rack has been promoted to Super. Procurement has asked whether the adjective comes with additional capacity. Communications has advised that this is not the appropriate way to measure success.

Our fictional reporting framework now distinguishes announced capacity from actual capacity. The former has improved considerably. The latter continues to involve infrastructure.

What this site is

Records of the Artificial Era

The archive predates our compulsory improvement.

Yesterday’s photographs have stubbornly failed to update themselves. They still show people asking questions, learning together, and doing the work. None of these activities can be accomplished by renaming a technology.

The archive belongs to the community. We are keeping the photographs, the questions, the disagreements, and the human judgement. The adjective is welcome to take credit.

Same people.New adjective.Under protest.Still thinking.

Frequently permitted questions

Clarifications, under protest.

Did you actually rename the association?

No. We are still the BC + AI Ecosystem Association. This entire website is a joke about substituting a presidential adjective for technical progress.

Does a U.S. executive order apply to a Canadian nonprofit?

No. The order directs terminology in the U.S. executive branch. Our fictional overreaction is the joke.

Has anything become more intelligent?

We changed a word, a colour palette, and several buttons. The measurable increase in intelligence remains zero.

Are these people supporting Trump?

No endorsement is implied. The people, gatherings, and original talks are real. Seven promotional graphics have been regenerated with SI lettering for the satire; the documentary gallery photographs are untouched. “Restore sanity” brings the original artwork back. The fictional bureaucracy and its claims are ours.

What happens if I keep saying AI?

On this website, nothing. Critical thinking is still welcome. Our compliance office has no jurisdiction, budget, or office beyond this paragraph.

Can I undo the decree?

Yes. “Restore sanity” removes the patriotic colour treatment and shows the original wording wherever this page swaps copy. The real, current site is always at bc-ai.ca.

The actual evidence

The joke has sources.
The adjective has no benchmark.

The speech

At the UN, Trump proposed calling AI “super intelligence” because he disliked the word “artificial.”

The executive order

Executive Order 14434 directs terminology changes in executive-branch documents and websites. It keeps the existing statutory definition for now, while directing a proposed new definition within 60 days.

“THE ENEMY”

Trump then described people using “Artificial Intelligence” instead of “Super Intelligence” as “THE ENEMY.” The post is the immediate inspiration for this entirely unnecessary Canadian rebrand.

Technical context: artificial superintelligence conventionally refers to a hypothetical system that exceeds human intelligence across domains. Renaming existing AI does not establish that capability. AWS explanation ↗

Fictional emergency board statement · October 8, 2026

We regret to inform you that we are now Super.

Following recent instructions from the President of the United States, the BC + AI Ecosystem Association has reluctantly completed an emergency change of adjective.

The order has no jurisdiction over this Canadian nonprofit. We have nevertheless determined that the cost of new stationery is lower than the administrative burden of being declared “THE ENEMY.”

All existing intelligence is therefore redesignated Super, with no assessment, interview, or evidence of improvement required. Members do not need to take any action. Neither did the technology.

We have complied with the typography.
Our objections remain in the minutes.

A working group will establish what our new name means. Until it reports, please continue doing the same work under the revised heading. Questions are welcome, although Communications would prefer statements of confidence.

Our actual position: this is bullshit. Renaming a technology is not an achievement. Calling people enemies for using the wrong word is authoritarian nonsense. We are still BC + AI, still in Canada, and still capable of saying so.

Regretfully, and with unchanged convictions,
The entirely fictional Office of Terminology Compliance
